100 Wallace Street Braidwood
A copy black and white photograph of Paul Nomchong as 'Santa', distributing gifts to the children of Braidwood in 1929. People are gathered outside Braidwood's National Theatre, Wallace Street, which is owned by Mr Nomchong. The Theatre showed silent movies, having begun that enterprise in 1913 at the Literary Institute. Billboards advertising the films to be shown on Thurs. 26th Dec and Sat. 28th Dec are displayed at the front of the building. See also 'Braidwood Dear Braidwood' Netta Ellis (1989). The creator of this image, Paul Ellis, was an amateur photographer and member of the Braidwood & District Historical Society.
